Project type: Construction and development

Who is the clinic for?
For children and adults with complex medical conditions who cannot receive regular dental care in the community – including oncology patients, the disabled, the elderly on blood thinners, and patients with severe phobias.
The project to establish a specialist dental center for patients at risk at the Meir Medical Center was born out of a real and painful need. Today, thousands of children and adults who need complex dental treatments simply do not receive a response, simply because their health condition does not allow for regular treatment in the community. These include people with physical or mental disabilities, oncology patients who are in the midst of treatment, elderly people with heart problems who take blood thinners, and patients who need treatment with general anesthesia – some due to past traumas.
For these patients, toothache is not just an inconvenience – it is a real danger. And yet, there is currently no public dental clinic operating within a hospital in the Sharon area that can provide them with adequate and safe treatment.
The establishment of the clinic will enable the provision of professional, tailored, and safe medical care within the framework of a hospital - and will provide people without access to what many of us take for granted: quality, respectful, and timely medical care.
platoon: Oral and maxillofacial surgery, field of dentistry
Main population segment:
The donation will directly impact at-risk adults and children who cannot receive dental care in the community, including:
Patients with physical, mental or cognitive disabilities – children and adults, who cannot sit in a regular treatment chair.
Oncology patients before or during chemotherapy treatments, who require dental treatment under sterile conditions and medical supervision in a hospital.
Complex patients who take blood-thinning medications and need close medical monitoring even for simple dental treatments.
Patients who require dental treatment under general anesthesia due to severe phobia of treatment, sometimes due to past traumas.
Children who are uncooperative and require treatment with general anesthesia for urgent treatment of pain or infections.
Elderly patients who suffer from complex dental problems, multiple medications, and a health condition that requires treatment in a hospital setting - but do not receive a response in the Sharon-Samaria region.
